About

The Little Gym offers gymnastics, dance, parent/child classes, pre-K gymnastics, and grade school gymnastics, along with tumbling, balancing, and climbing activities. The program also hosts kids birthday parties, camps, and a Parent Survival Night, and includes movement-based learning and imaginative play.

• Ages: 4 months–12 years old

The Little Gym describes its mission as being a place where children ages 4 months to 12 years learn and grow through movement-based learning and imaginative play. Programs from 4 months through 12 years are described as getting kids moving, boosting brainpower, and emphasizing social and emotional learning through a proprietary Three-Dimensional Learning philosophy. This philosophy includes a Get Moving dimension focused on motor skills, strength, balance, flexibility, agility, and coordination through gymnastics; a Citizen Kid dimension focused on sharing, teamwork, cooperation, and leadership; and a Brain Boost dimension focused on creativity, imagination, concentration, and decision-making. Classes are described as having a positive, non-competitive spirit and as supporting physical, social, and emotional growth in an environment described as fun with a serious purpose. The gyms are described as fun and safe spaces for children and parents to explore gymnastics and more, and birthday parties are described as “simply AWESOME,” while camps are described as educational and fun. Parent Survival Night is described as giving parents a break. Families can use a mobile app to discover, book, and track classes, camps, and parties, receive milestone updates and class photos, and celebrate progress.

The Little Gym uses a proprietary philosophy called Three-Dimensional Learning and offers kid’s gymnastics from 4 months to 12 years old. The program has grown into a global community of families, instructors, and local business owners. Robin Wes, the founder of The Little Gym, opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington.

Parent testimonials describe The Little Gym as a place children enjoy attending and ask to return to, and they describe the teachers as interactive and “amazing.” One parent notes techniques used to gain and keep toddlers’ attention and participation, and describes a granddaughter’s balance and body movements as better than average, as well as noting that she is learning how to play with others and do teamwork.
