YMCA of Central Texas Youth Camps and Child Care offers a mix of outdoor adventures, creative arts, sports, team-building, games, and crafts. Campers and children in care can take part in activities such as rock wall climbing, using a water slide and zoom flume, swimming, gymnastics, soccer, journalism, cake decorating, art projects, and dancing.

• Schedule: Summer day camps run May 26–August 17 with camp hours from 7am–6pm, and overnight summer camp runs May 31–August 1 with weeklong and two-night options; preschool and All Day Out programs run 7am–6pm on weekdays, and Afterschool programs operate from school release until 6:00pm or 6:30pm depending on the district.
Traditional Overnight Camp sessions are weeklong, with Sunday drop-off and Saturday pick-up, and the Half-Week Adventure is a flexible, two-night overnight program. YMCA camps include Outdoor Day Camp, Overnight Camp, Adventure Academy indoor full-day camps at various school districts, and Specialty Camps at CHASCO, Hutto, Twin Lakes, and Waco. YMCA Adventure Academy runs indoor summer camp programs at elementary schools including Bar W, Deep Wood, Double File, Forest Creek, Howard Norman, Wolf Ranch, Akin, and Naumann. The Orr Family Adventure Course (Sky Trail at Twin Lakes Family YMCA) is a ropes and climbing adventure course with platforms, bridges, and balance elements, using full-body harnesses and a continuous belay system.
The YMCA of Central Texas’ Licensed Child Care Department partners with school districts, community businesses, and well trained staff for Afterschool programs and has provided school-based after-school care since partnering with Round Rock ISD in 1989. The Y states that it is committed to a diverse and inclusive environment where all are welcome and have access to programs and services, and that it works side-by-side with neighbors so everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. The Y provides financial aid for memberships and offers financial assistance to individuals and families who cannot afford membership. The YMCA conducts regular sex offender screenings on all members, participants, and guests.
