About

Cops and Campers Youth Summer Camp includes activities and games, age-appropriate lessons, and a field trip each week. Campers take part in activities that staff and volunteers set up, lead, and clean up, and they are checked in and out of camp each day. All campers are required to bring a sack lunch and are urged to bring their own water bottles each day.

• Schedule: The camp is offered over 3 separate weeks, with hours of operation from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Fridays.
• Price: Cops and Campers youth summer camp is FREE to all students selected.

The camps are run by the School Resource Officers from the Sachse Police Department in conjunction with select high school students and adult volunteers. Each weekly camp features a field trip, and adult volunteers may help chaperone campers on these trips. Students who are current 9th through 11th graders at Sachse High School and PTA members may volunteer to assist with the camps, and volunteers are responsible for their own transportation and provide their own lunch unless otherwise instructed. Volunteers can earn up to 40 hours each week, with a maximum of 160 hours available per volunteer, and these hours are documented in a letter from the Sachse Police Department that can be used at Sachse High School for club membership as well as on college admission resumes. The program can accommodate 40 campers per camp.
