The WHIT Program works with local Child Protective Services to identify children in foster care who need help with math and reading. Volunteer university students are trained in tutoring, confidentiality, and spotting abuse and neglect. After a background check, volunteer tutors are matched with a foster child. The program is free to foster children and their families and is supported entirely by private donations. No tax money is taken.
