About

Morgan's Camp offers activities that include a challenge course, climbing walls, a zipline, and a winding pool. The challenge course has four climbing walls and upper decks with a wheelchair ramp that allows an individual in a wheelchair to complete the course next to someone without a physical disability. The camp is described as an Ultra-Accessible camp for everyone, with a particular emphasis on giving people with physical and developmental disabilities an opportunity to enjoy summer-camp-type activities alongside guests without special needs, and it is open all year long.

• Ages: 0–18 years old

Morgan’s Camp is part of Morgan’s, a nonprofit organization that coordinates planning, fundraising, and communication for the entire Morgan’s Wonderland family. Morgan’s Camp is described as a 102-acre paradise of play, a nurturing place of learning about nature, and an inspirational outpost for all seasons and all people, and it houses the Edwards Aquifer Authority Education Outreach Center. The ziplines at Morgan’s Camp are described as the first in the world to allow people of all abilities to fly across the sky in style, with two seated ziplines, one 450 feet long and one 700 feet long, both 11 stories high, and each seated zipline allows two people to ride side-by-side or individually.

Morgan’s Camp is part of the broader history of Morgan’s Wonderland, which became the world’s first Ultra-Accessible, fully-inclusive theme park in 2010. Gordon Hartman, a philanthropist and former homebuilder, leads the organization and is the founder of Gordon Hartman Homes and a land development company; he is a member of the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame and the Texas Business Hall of Fame and was inducted into the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame in 2018. Founded in 1983, Gordon Hartman Homes built housing for low- to moderate-income families, and in 2005 Gordon Hartman sold his companies and established the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation.

Valero Energy Corp. of San Antonio is the founding partner of Morgan’s Camp and has provided financial support. Valero executives Joe Gorder and his wife Lacie, and Bill Klesse and his wife Margie, have made personal gifts. Morgan’s Camp houses the Edwards Aquifer Authority Education Outreach Center, which is committed to educating the community about the Edwards Aquifer.
