AlphaBEST Education has been providing before and after school programs since 2005 and is a family-owned business that currently serves approximately 30,000 students in 17 states. The program follows all procedures and regulations related to a licensed child care program, including fingerprinted background checks for staff, and staff are trained in first aid, CPR, airborne illnesses, and epi-pen administration. All staff participate in an extensive training program focused on operating a safe and inclusive program, and AlphaBEST uses a tiered system of supports called Creating Connected Communities.
The organization states that student safety is a top priority and that it believes in creating learning environments where all children are welcome, including children with special needs. Staff receive special training to support children with special needs in meaningful enrichment activities. AlphaBEST Education is an equal opportunity employer and provider.
The leadership team for this program includes Assistant Area Manager Hailey Molina, District Manager Jody Gray, and Regional Manager Keith Roberts. Hailey Molina has two years of experience in childhood development, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology, and is pursuing a Master’s in Sports Psychology and Behavior. The AlphaBEST mission states that the organization believes in the power of wonder and encourages children to use their imagination as it expands their horizons.
Testimonials from families and school leaders in various districts describe structured activities that are both fun and educational, including foreign languages, sports, LEGO robotics, creative arts, organized games, and cultural immersion with Mandarin Chinese. Several testimonials note that children are engaged in activities such as learning about different artists’ styles during art activities and often do not want to leave at pickup time. School administrators describe AlphaBEST as providing purposeful and meaningful activities during after school hours and mention a hands-on curriculum that uses high-interest areas and an expanded learning curriculum.
