Aerial Athletics has served families since 2003 and was opened by Heather Schnelzer, who also owns STRIVE Gym Camps. Heather Schnelzer received a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Trinity University, grew up as a competitive gymnast, competed at the Junior Olympic level, was recruited by the College of William and Mary before transferring to Trinity University, and served as Head Coach for several gymnastics clubs for eight years. In 2007, she received the Texas Coach of the Year and Region III Coach of the Year awards and served on the Texas Gymnastics State Board and Region III board for several years.

The program’s mission states that it is committed to fostering a love for movement, creativity, and physical well-being in children aged 18 months to 17 years through gymnastics, tumbling, ninja, and cheerleading classes in a supportive, empowering environment. GymKids Preschool Academy offers 2-day, 3-day, or 5-day options and includes a gymnastics class every day. Ninja Classes include obstacle courses, strength-building challenges, and agility training, and Summer Adventures Camp features themed weeks, crafts, inflatables, games, special guests, optional field trips, and other activities. Parents’ Night Out events include themed games, arts and crafts, gymnastics and ninja obstacle courses, pizza, and inflatables, and Spirit Week includes themed dress-up days.

Families can schedule a no-risk trial class, which counts as the first class if the family chooses to continue, with no obligation if they do not continue, and parents are asked to arrive 5–10 minutes early to meet staff and receive instructions before class begins. The program runs year-round with no long-term contracts, uses a 48-week calendar with continuous enrollment, and offers make-up classes for missed classes due to personal absences or gym closures, with make-up tokens expiring 60 days after the issue date. A Summer Savings Special offers 40% off July enrollment for new students who enroll the same day as their no-risk trial.

For community involvement, Aerial Athletics provides transportation for its GymKids Afterschool program from Cibolo Valley Elementary, Sippel Elementary, Comal Creek Elementary, Garden Ridge Elementary, and Schlather Intermediate. The program runs field trips for campers, including visits to The DoSeum and Young Chefs Academy, and hosts a Fall Festival with open gym, a petting zoo, face painting, food trucks, arts and crafts, games, and local vendors for shopping.
