Texas East Kids

Texas East Kids offers gymnastics, Preschool Jungle Gym, Kinder Prep Academy, Pre-school Gymnastics, Girl’s Gymnastics, Boys Gymnastics, and Cheer Tumbling Classes. The program also offers soccer themed parties, ninja themed parties, gymnastics themed parties, and a build your own party theme, along with Summer, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break camps. Training includes all four women’s Olympic events (vault, bars, beam, and floor), the six men’s Olympic events (vault, parallel bars, pommel horse, still rings, floor exercise, and high bar), as well as trampoline, tumble track, and pit work, and classes are also available for cheer squads.

Beginning with gymnastics 50 years ago, Texas East Kids now includes programs such as Preschool Jungle Gym, which is specifically developed for children ages 2–4, and Kinder Prep Academy, which is an innovative and unique program for 3 and 4 year olds based on child development research. Kinder Prep Academy involves gymnastics, motor skill development, and classroom time to prepare every child for success in kindergarten. Pre-school Gymnastics aims to allow each child to feel comfortable with movement and acquire fundamental skills, and the program notes studies that early intellectual growth is directly related to physical development, with preschool offering optimum learning experiences for pre-schoolers due to its smaller sized equipment and specialized setting.

Girl’s Gymnastics uses a progressive gymnastics program with a Level System based on skill mastery and offers beginner through advanced levels, using training on all four Olympic events plus trampoline to mold happy, healthy, confident children. Boys Gymnastics is a recreational program which emphasizes strength, flexibility, and balance, and features the six men’s Olympic events plus trampoline and related activities. Cheer Tumbling Classes are designed for girls and boys ages eight and over, and the majority of area cheer tumbling squads currently picked Texas East Kids students as their team members, with additional classes for cheer squads available upon request.

Texas East Kids states that it is here to develop children’s love for movement through fun activities and sports and strives to provide an environment where each child will feel challenged but never threatened by the activities or sequence. The gymnasts compete in the USA Gymnastics Federation, which is the governing body of International Gymnastics Competition, and competitive teams compete in this federation with levels ranging from beginner to elite. Texas East Kids reports having one of the most successful teams in Texas, with many State and Regional Champions, National Qualifiers, a Pre-Elite National Team Member, and an Elite gymnast who competed in the Championships of the USA. The program is led by second-generation owners Martin & Stacy Parsley and Marlynne Parsley Finch.
