About

Kids Fire Camp is a week-long day camp that focuses on fire and EMS related activities and scenarios. The program is conducted in an exciting, highly disciplined, and controlled environment. Students utilize the same discipline, training, skills, and equipment used by firefighters today.

• Schedule: Each June the Watauga Fire Department, in coordination with the City, conducts a week-long day camp

The goals of the fire camp program are to teach students the importance of teamwork and physical fitness, as well as to build self confidence and initiative to develop solutions to complex problems. All supervision, activities, and training sessions are conducted by members of the Watauga Fire Department. All instructors are state-certified career firefighter/Paramedics. The program is an annual event conducted by the Watauga Fire Department. The fire program was developed in 1994 by the Piedmont California Fire Department and was tested in 2019 by the Watauga Fire Department. The fire camp program is made possible by the gracious donation of effort by the Watauga Fire Department members.
