The Barns at Blue Mountain offers equine assisted services that include horseback riding, caring for the horses, horsemanship, and equine assisted learning. The program includes an Adaptive Horsemanship Program, Pony Pals and horsemanship classes, Pony Pals Summer Camps, Sunset Camps, Summer Camps, Summer Events, sensory camps, and Barn Buddies. Participants can also take part in greenhouse and garden programs that teach food production, food preservation, and business opportunities, as well as volunteering.

The Barns at Blue Mountain offers an at-risk youth program, tutoring, counseling services, educational clinics and field trips, and organization and business clinics. The Greenhouse program and greenhouse and garden space are part of a plan to contribute healthy food options to those with food insecurities. The mission of The Barns at Blue Mountain is to improve the overall well-being of individuals and their families through animals and hands-on activities. Equine specialists are certified through EAGALA and/or PATH Intl., and certified equine specialists in mental health and learning work with a licensed mental health professional in counseling services. The leadership team includes Executive Director Tish Jackson; Assistant Director and Physical Therapist Kristen Blankenship; Therapeutic Riding Instructor Ella Eisert; Barn Assistant Megan Cassell; and Volunteer Director and Administrative Assistance Joy Kaiser. Staff credentials include Tish Jackson’s B.S. in Animal Science and certifications as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor and PATH Intl. Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, and Ella Eisert’s background as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Behavioral Technician with a degree in Early Childhood Development majoring in Special Needs, along with certifications in Equine Welfare & Management and Mental Health First Aid & CPR.
