About
Mount Vernon Community Children's Theatre focuses on theatre arts and creative play. The program creates moments when courage, confidence, and creativity come to life on stage. Heritage Presbyterian Church is used for summer camps and the teen show, and Bryant Alternative High School is used for musical productions.

Mount Vernon Community Children's Theatre has been bringing quality arts education to the community since 1979. Its mission is to educate and develop young artists through theatre arts and creative play. Its vision is to lead in artistic and theatrical excellence within the community, and to provide a nurturing environment to explore storytelling with compassion, wonder, and generosity. Its core values are EMPOWER, EVOLVE, EXCEL, and ENGAGE.
Friends of MVCCT donors have their names listed in every program and displayed in the lobby throughout the 2025–26 season and receive a Friends of MVCCT car magnet. All season sponsorships include a logo on the back of the cast t-shirt, a linked logo on the MVCCT website, social media shoutouts, a linked logo on emails, a logo in all show programs, a logo on lobby signage, and mention in show announcements. Customized sponsorships are available. MVCCT has an Amazon Wish List for in-kind donations, and gifts to MVCCT are tax-deductible. MVCCT is now a registered charity with the Combined Federal Campaign, and federal employees can select MVCCT (#29834) as their recipient of choice when completing the CFC form.
The Managing Director is Becca Vourvoulas, and the Office Manager is Kimberly Hughey. The Co-Presidents are Kate Offringa and Josh Golden, the Treasurer is Chip Russell, and the Secretary is Kathryn Miksad. Board members are Bethany Weinstein, Laura Marshall, Dana Oliver, Bill Murray, Kelly Gerstenberg, Rebecca Kokinda, Nolan Welle, Brian Nienaber, Jennifer Walpole, and Debi Carroll.
Bill is an Alexandria-area lawyer, director, and actor who graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts from Carleton College and received a JD (magna cum laude) from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2011. He attended the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, CT, and has worked with the Seattle Children's Theatre, Missoula Children's Theatre, and the Georgetown Gilbert and Sullivan Society, among others. Bill directed Newsies for MVCCT in the spring of 2023 and Beauty and the Beast in the spring of 2024. Josh Golden is President and Chief Creative Officer for Yes&, an integrated marketing agency, and has been an adjunct theatre professor at Syracuse University and Suffolk Community College; he has taught teen actors at The Usdan Center for the Performing Arts, Gateway Playhouse, and The Actor's Center. Becca is a professional performer, choreographer, and theatre teacher who earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from Penn State University and has performed across the United States and internationally.
