Virginia Ballet Company and School

Virginia Ballet Company and School offers classical ballet training along with contemporary dance training, modern dance classes, contemporary dance classes, jazz classes, and conditioning classes. The program also includes adult dance classes in many styles for a range of experience levels.

• Schedule: Front office open Monday–Thursday with morning and evening hours, Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, and midday on Sunday

Since 1950, the Virginia Ballet Company has been instilling students with self-discipline and self-confidence through rigorous training and performance opportunities. The organization’s mission is to cultivate passion for classical ballet and modern dance through pre-professional dance training and performance opportunities for students of all ages and abilities, and to engage in community outreach that supports appreciation of classical arts. Virginia Ballet Company and School is a pre-professional 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that performs both full-length classical ballets and contemporary dance concerts and focuses on the tradition of classical choreography, including the history of dance, its pioneers, and its methods of instruction. The program is funded in part by ArtsFairfax and in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, which receives support from the Virginia General Assembly. Parents describe teachers as positive, encouraging, and attentive, note frequent performance options such as The Nutcracker and spring concerts, and mention that students can enter at various points based on their interest.
