Haymarket Children's Academy offers homework time, fun exploring adventures, social interaction, and lots of play time, including sensory play and exploring. Children spend time in The Outpost, a small street setup that includes an art gallery, toy shop, arcade, theater, apothecary, private kindergarten room, café, construction zone, library, and Capitol Lounge for older children, along with access to a full-size gym. The program also uses several learning stations such as an art station, theater station, toy shop station, and apothecary station, and includes a developmental curriculum for summer camp with fun adventures, sensory play, exploring, and social interaction.

Haymarket Children’s Academy states that it is a premier educational childcare school in Gainesville, VA and is dedicated to preparing young children for a lifetime of learning, exploration, and discovery in a safe, playful and nurturing environment, with a mission to create a community of care that encourages play-based early learning education by partnering with parents. The program uses an award-winning curriculum, Frog Street, with play-based learning roots and hands-on interactions and interpersonal play, and also uses STEM education. Haymarket Children’s Academy follows the COGNIA curriculum, is COGNIA accredited, and includes a private first grade class.

The program has specialized lead teachers and a curriculum specialist who leads teacher training and ensures all lessons are up to date. Its accredited teachers share knowledge, experience, and passion for early learning, and staff participate in the Better Kid Care program through Penn State University, which is specially designed for early care, education, and youth development professionals. The VA Infant & Toddler Specialist Network provides on-site services that include individualized consultation, targeted training, classroom-focused mentoring, and feedback.

Haymarket Children’s Academy uses clean air recirculating in the entire facility, a separate HVAC for the nursery, and a UV light and fog machine process to kill bacteria circulating, and all toys are disinfected after use. The program uses state-of-the-art security that only parents and teachers have access to, including fobs that allow entrance to the facility, and the ProCare app, which parents use to sign students in and out while keeping records within the application. The program uses the phrase, “It’s always a great day at HCA!”
