First Tee – Shenandoah Valley

First Tee – Shenandoah Valley offers junior golf programs and golf-based personal growth programs that use the game of golf together with a life skills curriculum. The program also includes a school program that is led by PE teachers as part of the yearly curriculum and supported by First Tee staff. It uses a Life-Skills Education curriculum and the Nine Core Values as part of its approach.

• Schedule: Hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm (hours may vary)

First Tee – Shenandoah Valley is part of First Tee, a youth development organization that integrates the game of golf with a life skills curriculum. The program provides learning facilities and educational programs that promote character-development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. The First Tee – Shenandoah Valley describes itself as the premier youth development organization that uses a Life-Skills Education curriculum and the Nine Core Values to impact the lives of young people, with a stated goal to see kids finish high school with a golf club in one hand and a diploma in the other. In 2024, the program had over 12,000 youth participants through golf course, school, and outreach programs. Its community programs serve youth in the City of Harrisonburg, City of Staunton, and Rockingham, Shenandoah, Page, and Augusta Counties, and its school program is taught through 40 schools across 5 counties in the Shenandoah Valley.
