The St. James FC Lovettsville Recreational Soccer program includes activities such as the Discover Soccer Program, an internal Recreational Soccer League, NCSL Recreational League games for U13–U16, Winter Rec Soccer, a Futsal Academy, Private & Small Group Lessons, the NCSL x STJ Futsal League, a Goalkeeper/Striker Program, an Advanced Training Program (ATP), a U8 Pre-Travel Academy, Travel Soccer, MLS Next, and Girls Academy. The Discover Soccer Program is managed and run by professional coaching staff at TSJFC (formerly FC Virginia), while the Recreational Soccer League is guided by volunteer coaching staff with operational and coaching support from professional staff. The U13–U16 Recreational League participates in the NCSL Recreational League, which combines a number of local clubs.

Lovettsville Recreational is one of the newer locations in The St. James FC (formerly FC Virginia) program model and offers programs for players 2–16 through the Discover Soccer Program, the internal Recreational League, and, beginning Spring 2024, participation in the NCSL Recreational League for U13+ teams. The Discover Soccer Program is designed to introduce players 2–5 years old to the game of soccer and incorporates fun games with introductory skill development, and the Discover 2 Program begins to incorporate the actual game of soccer. The Recreational Soccer League is for players 5–16 years old who want to enjoy the game of soccer in a more casual way, with skill development and game play at the heart of the program. The U13–U16 program is managed and coached by a combination of professional coaching staff and volunteers, and the Recreational League program is completely managed by professional coaching staff who provide operational field support and support to volunteer coaches both on and off the field. The U13–U16 Recreational League participates in the NCSL Recreational League, which combines a number of local clubs to play meaningful recreational games for older age group players.
The St. James states that it strives to provide the highest level of soccer experience regardless of level of interest or play and that its program provides families with the opportunity to play in a professionally managed and run club environment with locations close to home. The St. James FC is described as the preeminent educational and performance resource center for youth soccer players in the United States, with student-athletes having what it describes as the most comprehensive soccer development experience in the country for beginners and advanced players. The stated goal is to make youth soccer player development a measurable and educationally meaningful experience for the child and family, with a deliberate focus on “learning by doing” and holistic training, mentorship, and competition.
