Lynchburg Parks & Recreation Youth Programs is led by a team that includes Director Wyatt Woody; Support Services Manager John Ramsey; Recreation Services Manager David Hackney; Park Services Manager Howard Covey; Parks Maintenance Supervisor Brian Glass; Facilities Supervisor Vic Williams; Athletics & Aquatics Supervisor Thomas Moore; Community Recreation Supervisor Hannah Rathje; Neighborhood Centers Supervisor Shaunta Jefferson; Administrative Supervisor Tamara Parker; and Volunteer Coordinator Jamey Love. The mission statement describes a vision of a city where everyone can enjoy parks, trails, and recreation programs without worrying about costs, accessibility, or transportation, and where the community focuses on well-being, the natural environment, and positivity. The department has received recognition through two VRPS (Virginia Recreation and Park Society) awards. Lynchburg Parks & Recreation lists community partners that include the Lynchburg Museum System, Lynchburg Community Market, the Lynchburg city website, and The Commonwealth Games.
