YMCA of Central Virginia Youth Development Programs include activities such as swim lessons, water aerobics, family swim times, group fitness classes, yoga, and high-intensity interval training. The program also offers Child Watch, summer programs, preschool, before and after-school care, youth sports, hiking and outdoor adventures, field trips, and low-impact exercise classes. Families have access to YMCA360 App virtual fitness, Nationwide Membership, and a wide variety of healthy living programs.

The mission of YMCA of Central Virginia Youth Development Programs is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The programs are part of a broader effort that is here for the Central Virginia community, families, and individuals through fitness and wellness programs. One parent shared, “So just as the years went on, there was always something there for us.” Another participant stated, “I have belong to $10 a month gyms and I have belong to $50 a month gyms – the Y offers that and so much more. You get more bang for your buck than you would any other gym.”
