Nauticus Maritime Discovery Center Programs include activities such as the Sea Glass Workshop, Secrets of the Sea, Abandon Ship - Winter Edition, Holiday Lights, Rope Making - Winter, and Winter Survival. Nauticus Maritime Discovery Center Programs are led by the Director of Education and Community Engagement, Nate Sandel. The programs follow a mission that focuses on experiential learning for all ages through interactive exhibits and STEM to STERN programming that use the museum, Battleship Wisconsin, sailing center, and Schooner Virginia to tell the story of the maritime environment, industry, and the military. The sailing center is described as being committed to inspiring the community. The organization notes several unique features, including Virginia's only cruise ship program, highly-engaging STEM programs that educators can teach in classrooms, an overnight retreat aboard the battleship, the Reimagine Nauticus Capital Campaign as a $21.5 million transformational redesign project, and its newest exhibitions, Norfolk in Time and Aquaticus.
