About
Moonlit Wings Productions Kids Acting Classes, Camps & After-School Programs offers kids acting classes, camps, coaching, and after-school programs that include acting, music, movement, improv, and team-building. The program features performing arts experiences with real performance opportunities, including ACTify Camp performances of Pitch Perfection, Annie, Wonka, and Disney’s MOANA JR. Acting classes and camps are for kids ages 7 and up, as students work with short scripts and need basic reading skills.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
Programs are led by professionally trained teaching artists working in theatre, film, and the arts in the DC region, and all instructors complete background checks. The leadership team includes Founder & Artistic Director Walid Chaya, Youth Programs Director Jordyn Stewart, Director of Summer Camps Samantha Jalajel, and Music Education Director Rawan Chaya. Most programs conclude with a showcase or performance for families, giving every student an opportunity to participate and perform. Moonlit Wings offers inclusive, accessible performing arts experiences for kids and teens of all levels in Northern Virginia, with supportive instruction and a focus on helping every student grow with confidence. Programs are open to all levels and require no prior acting or theatre experience, and patient instructors meet students where they are, guiding them through acting, music, movement, improv, and team-building. Need-based Diversity Scholarships for kids and teens in performing arts programs are awarded seasonally on a rolling basis as space becomes available. Students should bring a pencil and highlighter, and scripts are provided; camp students should pack two snacks and a lunch, and if a location includes scheduled swim time, they should bring a swimsuit and towel. A detailed welcome email with program-specific details is sent prior to each session.
Moonlit Wings Productions has been recognized by Washington Family Magazine as a winner for “Best Arts Program” and “Best Children's Theatre & Drama Instruction.” The program is involved in the community by offering programs across Northern Virginia and inviting schools or community groups to contact them to bring a program to their site.
Parent feedback includes comments that the teaching is fantastic, the community is great, and that even a shy child felt included and enjoyed fun, enriching activities at Moonlit Wings Productions, as shared by Kathleen J. Another parent, Robert R., shared that the camps are a great summer activity and that their daughter has become a great performer thanks to the Moonlit Wings camps. Hannah K. described the program as exceeding expectations and feeling socially and emotionally supportive, and shared that her child was excited after the first day, made new friends immediately, and was ready to go each morning.
