R.O.C.K. Club’s mission is to support the family structure by providing quality Christ-centered care in a loving environment. The program offers Christ-centered learning, a Christ-based summer program, and loving Christian faith-based care and programs. It provides exceptional faith-based child care for children ages three to twelve in a setting that focuses on a loving Christian environment and shares basic Biblical principles as staff guide children in their spiritual development. The program follows a balanced approach that addresses the whole child spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially, and uses the motto “Reaching Our Community's Kids” with Proverbs 22:6 as guiding scripture.

Radford’s R.O.C.K. Club has been serving families throughout Montgomery and Radford County, Virginia, for over 16 years and has a vision to faithfully serve the communities of Radford, Montgomery County, and Pulaski County. The Director, Chris Blackburn, has a Master’s Degree in Christian Education and a B.S. in Communication (Speech) with a Minor in History and Political Science from Radford University (1993), and also serves as the children’s pastor at Compassion Radford (formerly Radford Worship Center). Chris and his wife Tina have been leaders within the community since August of 2008 through this children’s ministry role.

The program maintains a staff-to-student ratio of 1:10 to 1:15, with at least one staff member in each classroom and on every trip who is certified in First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross. Full-time employees have at least a high school diploma, and part-time employees are pursuing a high school diploma. Staff are specially trained and educated in the field of child development and have previous experience in child care. Director Christopher Blackburn states, “With the Lord’s help, we want to become one of the friendliest places a child can come to after school each day in Radford. We want to be the kind of place that you are proud to have your child attend.”
