Chesterbrook Academy Preschool and Summer Camp

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool and Summer Camp offers children activities such as outdoor play, creative activities, dance, games, drawing, singing, dancing, building structures, observing nature, and mixing materials. The program uses the Links to Learning curriculum, which includes seven core subject areas: Language & Literacy, Mathematical Thinking, Social-Emotional Learning, Wellness, Creative Expression, Scientific Exploration, and Citizens of the World. Classrooms combine research-based instruction with small group learning and individualized support, and teachers participate in ongoing professional development.

Chesterbrook Academy opened its first school in 1985 and traces its legacy to the historic Chesterbrook Farm in Wayne, Pennsylvania. It is part of a network of campuses serving students from infants through middle school and offers daycare, preschool, elementary, and middle school programs, along with before- and after-school care and summer camp. The program is dedicated to providing the communities of Richmond, Southampton, Huguenot, Chippenham Village, Bon Air, Chesterfield, Midlothian, and North Chesterfield with an educational experience grounded in academic excellence and genuine care. Its focus includes both academic excellence and social-emotional skills such as making friends, sharing, and self-care, and instructional experts cultivate strong relationships, recognize each child’s unique strengths, and guide students through challenges that build critical thinking. Students in this network consistently earn some of the highest scores among independent schools on the Comprehensive Testing Program, and more than 100,000 students have been educated across over 40 years of leadership.
