CodeVA

CodeVA offers computer science resources and materials that include an AI Ecosystem, which is a structured approach to introducing Artificial Intelligence and data science in high school computer science programs. The program also offers CS Ready, a tiered partnership model for building sustainable computer science programs, as well as Praxis Prep, a facilitated professional learning course that prepares educators to earn computer science endorsement. CodeVA provides a curriculum library and professional development offerings for educators, and its website is in the process of being updated to ensure compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

One English Language Development Specialist who participated in a CodeVA program said, "I'm an EL teacher for multiple grade levels, so I'm always looking for ways I can support our Els in the classroom.After this course, I feel that I could not only support my Els who may be doing coding in their class, but I could lead a whole class through the Twine process as a co-teacher." Another participant, Keun-Woo Lee, Sr. Learning Exp. Designer at Digital Promise, said, "I really appreciate the high quality of the CodeVA computer science resources and materials, and even learned a thing or two while reading through them myself -- I know our team has been and will continue to highlight the lessons with our district partners!"
