About

Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit program that serves grieving children and young people. The program is part of a larger community that focuses on camp experiences for those who have experienced the death of a parent or sibling, in the context of a national need where 1 in 11 children in the US will experience such a loss by age 18 (Source: 2025 CBEM National Report).

Since 1998, Comfort Zone Camp has worked with over 27,000 grieving children at no cost to families. Its stated mission is helping kids heal, grow, and lead more fulfilling lives. The organization invites community members to join the more than 2,000 volunteers who support Comfort Zone Camp’s programs. Families and participants have shared feedback such as “CZC is the best weekend camp for grieving kids!”, “My girls absolutely LOVED their experience, LOVED their Big Buddies, and CANNOT WAIT to go again! I am grateful.” (Alison Campeau, Camper Parent), and “Everything about Comfort Zone Camp sounded too good to be true, but it turns out it was better than I could have imagined.” (Payton Brennan, Young Adult Camp Participant).
