About

Thrive Virginia Youth Programs offers domestic violence and sexual assault intervention and prevention, supportive advocacy services to survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual violence, court advocacy, supportive counseling, safety planning, and children's counseling. The program provides a summer day camp, a feeding program for children who live or attend school in King William County or King and Queen County, and meal bags with easy to prepare meals to children during extended school breaks, with food gift cards distributed instead of meal bags during COVID-19. It also offers educational outreach aimed at dropout prevention and access to higher education, including the free Project Discovery program for students in grades 9–12 in Charles City County and King and Queen County, along with resources to help students transition to post-secondary education through the Project Discovery curriculum.

Thrive Virginia Youth Programs includes Family Coaching through a Whole Family Approach, where Family Coaches work with families to solve problems, access resources, and sharpen existing skills. The Early Childhood Education Program provides home visits to promote positive parenting, improve childhood outcomes, and increase family self-sufficiency through education and community support, along with support to families during pregnancy and the first few years of a child's life. The program also offers utility arrears assistance, financial and housing education and counseling, coaching with health resources and basic needs, and connections to employment training and opportunities.
