Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Youth Programs include activities such as Global Connections, Literacy Development, Science and Math, Early Engineering, Coding, and Full STEAM Ahead. The program also includes activities focused on Hand-Eye Coordination and Fine Motor Skills, Self-Expression, Public Speaking, Critical Thinking, Leadership and Character, Health and Wellness, and Lifelong Learning Skills. Students take part in Celebrations, Middle School Celebrations, Advisory, Student Support, Digital Citizenship, Global Mindedness, and the NFL Coed Saints Flag Football League, along with an athletic program in grades 6-12 with over 50 teams in 15 sports and strength, conditioning and performance training.

• Schedule: Open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with administrative offices open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during the summer months
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Youth Programs are part of a college preparatory private school serving Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Program features include a state-of-the-art Innovation Lab, the newly renovated Hawks Library, the Ann S. Powell Office of College Counseling, the Sandra F. Birdsong Center for Academic Excellence, and a Harbour View Campus for children in Pre-K2 through 3rd grade in North Suffolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and surrounding areas of Hampton and Norfolk. The Main Campus provides a Pre-K through 12th-grade community on 100 acres of land, and the oldest Upper School students mentor elementary and middle school students, including coaching younger students in the NFL Coed Saints Flag Football League. Every Middle School student has access to a device. The school motto, “Honor Above All,” is the foundation for its character education, and students participate in a variety of community service projects and activities throughout the year. The leadership team includes Mike Barclay, Head of School, and Karen Schompert, Director of Communications and Public Relations.
