Wakefield Christian Camp

Wakefield Christian Camp offers worship services, prayer, and time for reflection in a central tabernacle and a dedicated Prayer Chapel. Campers can take part in activities such as frisbee, gymnastics, lawn games, soccer, basketball, swimming in a seasonal pool that is a rental item, and crafts. The camp also has a children’s playground, grassy playing fields, an open air pavilion with picnic tables, and a camp fire area for group gatherings.

Wakefield Christian Camp Association states that it offers a setting for people to escape and “unplug” from the day-to-day world and be transformed in its rustic sanctuary. The camp can accommodate a total of 124 campers in two gender-separated dormitories, four private cottages, and three motel units with private bathrooms. The entire camp is rented to only one group at a time, and the kitchen is furnished with cooking utensils for groups that bring their own cooks and food. The central tabernacle seats 700 people and includes a platform for speakers, choirs, and musicians. Linda Strickland is listed as the contact person for the leadership team. The organization notes that it is located in Wakefield, Virginia, which is known as the Peanut Capitol of the World.
