Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre School offers performing arts classes that connect directly with mainstage plays and musicals, Studio Series productions, concerts from the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, and monthly improv with The Edge. The program also includes guest and partner events that tie into these theatre and music activities.

Bainbridge Performing Arts states that its mission is to be a place where stories come to life and community gathers, creating space for connection, creativity, and shared experience, with the idea that the arts belong to everyone. The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, which is part of this organization, was originally founded in 1972 and was adopted under the Bainbridge Performing Arts umbrella in the spring of 1993. The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra is a volunteer group that brings together artists spanning generations and skill levels, and Bainbridge Performing Arts and the orchestra acknowledge community members who contribute time, energy, money, and audience support. Bainbridge Performing Arts Theatre School is part of an organization that offers performing arts classes for people of all ages.
The Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director & Conductor is Ryan Dakota Farris. He is pursuing his doctorate in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Washington, where he conducts the Campus Philharmonia and serves as assistant conductor of the University of Washington Symphony. His experience includes work as a cover conductor for the Auburn Symphony in Washington and the Boulder Philharmonic in Colorado, assistant conductor roles with Colorado MahlerFest and Greater Boulder Youth Orchestras, and sectional conductor work with Seattle’s Harmonia Orchestra & Chorus. He studied with Michael Jinbo at the Pierre Monteux School and Music Festival in Maine for five summers and has also studied with conductors Ludovic Morlot, David Alexander Rahbee, Gary Lewis, Nicholas Carthy, Donald Schleicher, Kensho Watanabe, Kirk Trevor, and Tiffany Lu. As a performer, he has been principal cellist with the Boulder Opera Company, Seattle Philharmonic Strings, and the University of Washington Symphony, a featured concerto soloist with the South Puget Sound College Orchestra in 2019, and a chamber musician across the region. He has played with the Boulder Philharmonic, Fort Collins Symphony, and Colorado MahlerFest, composes music, performs on baroque cello and viola da gamba with the UW Baroque Ensemble, and plays traditional Irish fiddle with the Seattle-based Celtic band Cavort.
