About
Mountain Biking Camp – Bellevue focuses on mountain biking and trail riding, including learning bicycle maintenance basics and technical skills such as bunny hops, track stands, braking, and shifting. Campers practice riding on rolling single and double track terrain, descending and ascending trail sections, and riding narrow and winding trails. They also spend time safety checking bikes, solving gear problems, and changing flat tires.
• Ages: 7–12 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday
• Price: One Week Price $760; Early Drop Off - Starting at 8 AM $40; After Care - Pick up 3-6 PM $115; Bike Rental $50; Avid4 Merch - Delivery at Camp Prices Vary (Tax Incl.)
Regular camp hours run from 9 AM to 3 PM, with extended camp hours available from 8 AM to 6 PM. Campers are strongly encouraged to use their own tuned bikes that fit well and are appropriate for dirt trails, including hand brakes, gears, and wider tires, or they may rent a bike for an additional fee selected during registration. In order to register, campers must be able to bike confidently without training wheels on a dirt surface, and if they do not meet this minimum skill requirement, Avid4 Adventure may move them to a different program if space is available or remove them from the group and offer a credit. Campers are grouped by grade range, either 2nd–4th graders or 5th–7th graders, and transportation is provided to and from recreation areas, with access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids.
Instructors are all 18 and older, described as insatiable outdoors experts with impeccable credentials and serious safety and skills training. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong. The leadership team includes Founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that at Avid4 Adventure kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking.
Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service. The organization is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. Avid4 Adventure describes its summer camps as highly acclaimed, notes that it is a premium camp committed to paying educators a fair wage, and reports that it will be hiring approximately 500 educators to provide authentic outdoor adventures across all of its camps. Avid4 Adventure also states that it teaches campers solid skills, including how to use sound judgment and problem-solving in all aspects of their lives.
The program is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which includes a promise to provide campers an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and if Avid4 Adventure does not meet these promises, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Avid4 Adventure notes that programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17 and that it organizes big adventures in beautiful recreation areas, with adventures carefully customized so campers progress as their comfort and skill level grow.
Parent testimonials describe Avid4 Adventure as a camp where a child who previously biked only with training wheels learned to ride without them and later became able to ride independently, and where staff are described as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children. Other parents report that their kids talk about the camp long after it ends, are active every day, and learn how to enjoy outdoor activities.
