The program focuses on a balanced schedule of open play and structured activities, with every activity described as designed to spark imagination and encourage lifelong positive values. Daily plans include at least thirty minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity, held outdoors when weather permits, and digital device use is limited to homework, academic enrichment, or physically active programs. Program materials state a focus on social-emotional skill building, leadership development, service learning, college and career exploration, arts education, global learning, 21st century skills, family engagement, academics, health and wellness, and interactive learning centers. The program notes that elementary-aged youth participate in a safe and supported environment with opportunities to learn and lead, and that programs support academic achievement, foster health and wellness, instill positive social emotional learning, and create opportunities for youth and families to belong and connect.

For the 2025–26 school year, Before-School Care ONLY is listed at $177 for 2 days, $266 for 3 days, and $407 for 5 days per week. Priority registration for families enrolled in a School-Age Care PLUS plan opens two weeks before each non-school day, and non-school day registration opens to everyone one week before the day of care.

The program states that scholarship options are available so that everyone has an opportunity to experience the Y, and that it accepts participants paid through Working Connections Child Care, DCYF, DSHS, or other third-party pay options. Additional schools served are described as locations from which children may be transported to a YMCA School-Age Care location, with transportation possibly provided by the YMCA or the school district if available. Pre-enrollment is required as the first step before registration is finalized. A Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) is required in order for a child to participate in YMCA care.

The YMCA of Snohomish County notes a mission “to inspire, nurture, and strengthen culturally vibrant communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.” It will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2026. The organization reports community involvement that includes partnering with the Chill Foundation to provide a snowboard program for teens, hosting MLK Day of Service projects throughout Snohomish and Island Counties, and using a $100,000 Global Engagement Grant from Boeing to sustain and expand hands-on STEM programs.
