Children participate in a balance of open play and structured activities, including daily thirty-minute sessions of moderate to vigorous physical activity, held outdoors when weather allows. Focus areas in the program include social-emotional skill building, leadership development, service learning, college and career exploration, arts education, global learning, 21st century skills, family engagement, academics, health and wellness, and interactive learning centers. The program gives children time for active play and collaboration on projects, and scholarship options are available. Participants in Before and After-School Care PLUS plans have full-day care on non-school days included in their cost of care, while participants in Before and After-School Care ONLY plans pay for each day of care upon registration. Pre-enrollment is the first step to registering, and a Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) is required in order to participate in YMCA care.

The mission of the YMCA is to inspire, nurture, and strengthen culturally vibrant communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The leadership team for this program includes Location Registrar Grace Hovind and Program Director Jessica Lyle. The YMCA welcomes participants paid through Working Connections Child Care, DCYF, DSHS, or other third-party pay options, and the Marysville Family YMCA, in partnership with Kendall Subaru of Marysville, has expanded its 3rd Grade Splash Program. Staff at the Monroe/Sky Valley Family YMCA have been recognized by Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue with the Civilian Life Saving Award.
