Eaton Arrowsmith Academy – Kids & Teens Cognitive Enhancement Programs includes Arrowsmith cognitive exercises, Math, Language Arts, Integrated Studies in STEAM, Social Studies and Fine Arts, physical activity, field trips, themed spirit days, Executive Function Coaching, and the PEERS social skills program. Programs are offered in-person and online, with part-time options available for students and families seeking only Arrowsmith cognitive training. The Cognitive Intensive Program (CIP) focuses on the Symbol Relations exercise, one of 19 different Arrowsmith cognitive exercises that strengthen specific pathways in the brain used for learning and social skills.

• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Full academic year and part-time options, including full-time, half-day, 4-hours-a-week, and a six-week intensive program

Programs are offered for the full academic year in full-time and half-day formats, and from October through May for part-time options, with the 4 Hours A Week program running for 8 months and the Cognitive Intensive Program running for six weeks. The full-time program runs Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:15pm, with an option to add after-school supervised homework sessions, while the half-day program runs approximately three hours a day, Monday through Friday, and the 4 Hours A Week program runs two days a week for two hours a day.

Each student receives a full cognitive brain profile through an Arrowsmith Assessment upon enrollment and a second cognitive assessment at the end of the school year, and programs are individualized to each student based on their rate of progress and overall cognitive profile. The program follows the Washington State curriculum for Math and Language Arts and includes integrated studies in STEAM, Social Studies, and Fine Arts, along with a variety of activities during the school day to foster community, spirit, and friendship. Eaton Arrowsmith describes its programs as the first line of intervention for Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder and states that its programs enhance and strengthen cognitive abilities, improve achievement skills, and build academic independence.

Eaton Arrowsmith Academy was founded in 2005 with its first location in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and the Arrowsmith Program has been changing lives for over 40 years. Eaton Arrowsmith states that it has empowered thousands of children, teens, and adults to shift from surviving to thriving in a safe and caring environment, and that more than 1,500 students have successfully transitioned to mainstream curriculum, universities, and careers. The mission of Eaton Arrowsmith Academy is to empower every student to reach their full potential by combining innovative cognitive enhancement methods with specially designed academic instruction, addressing the diverse learning needs of each individual. The Symbol Relations cognitive function, which is the focus of the six-week Cognitive Intensive Program, is described by the program as responsible for processing concepts, understanding and quickly grasping what is read and heard, gaining insight, logical reasoning, seeing connections between ideas, cause and effect processing, and mathematical reasoning.
