Dragonfly Arts Camps are part of Three Dragons Academy, a Seattle-based alternative learning community featuring arts-enrichment programs and classes for kids 4½–14, which offers part-time programs for full-time learners. The camps are described as arts-integrated, truly child-centered, half-day camps with device-free, multi-discipline art projects, and themes that focus on building cooperation and confidence through play and exploration. A certain amount of self-sufficiency is required, including being able to use the restroom and open snacks independently, and recess is an integral part of daily activities. Participants are described as feeling a strong sense of ownership over the classrooms, with empowerment and responsibility built into the philosophy so the space is understood to be theirs to steward. Scholarships are always available for families in need. Three Dragons Productions has operated from 2012–2025, and its mission is to foster a lifelong love of learning through arts education. Three Dragons Academy is now located in the city’s Uptown Arts District and notes partnerships with neighborhood cultural and arts organizations, including Theatre Puget Sound, where it has held summer camps and other programming.
