About
Illumination Learning Studio offers music lessons, performance and fine arts classes, and music programs that include drama, voice, and fine arts. Children can take toddler music and movement, as well as piano, guitar, ukulele, percussion, flute, and voice lessons, with options for both group and individual instruction. The program includes afternoon arts programs and half-day Preschool and Pre-K arts immersion programs, along with school-year and summer camps with adventure themes.

Illumination Learning Studio is locally owned and operated and offers educational programs for early childhood enrichment in cultural, performing, and fine arts. Its proprietary arts curriculum is developed by specialty arts instructors and teaching staff and combines cultural arts and academic-based learning.
The first Illumination Learning Studio concept opened in the Greenwood/Phinney Ridge neighborhood in April 2013. The leadership team includes Mike Piper (Co-Founder and Preschool Music Teacher), Molli Piper (Preschool Program Director, Co-Founder, and Lead Pre-K Teacher), Will Piper (Director of Operations), Tricia Piper-Bennett (Business Manager), Ky Osburn (Lead Preschool Teacher and Toddler Music & Movement Teacher), Marissa Caraballo (Creative Arts Instructor - Drama), Brianna Eng (Creative Arts Instructor - Visual Arts - Ballard & Greenwood), and Bridget Kirk (Creative Arts Instructor - Dance, on leave).
Staff credentials include early childhood education, music, theatre, visual arts, and organizational leadership. Mike Piper has a degree in Early Childhood Education and Music and 17 years of experience as a Music and Cultural Arts Instructor for the Chicago Parks District. Molli Piper holds a Type-04 Early Childhood Teaching Certificate and has over 15 years of experience teaching preschool-age children. Will Piper holds an MBA with an HR Management focus from Central Michigan and a BS in Organizational Leadership from Arizona State University and has over 7 years of experience teaching music privately. Ky Osburn received a 2-Year Certificate in Immersive Performance in Musical Theatre from AMDA in New York and a BFA in Musical Performance from AMDA Los Angeles. Marissa Caraballo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and French from Boston College. Brianna Eng holds a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Arts with a focus on drawing, painting, and design.

The program is a member of the Phinney Neighborhood Association and the Ballard Alliance of Businesses, is active in Ballard, Greenwood, Green Lake, and Phinney Ridge community events year-round, and participates in charitable giving.
