About

Seattle Central Little League offers baseball and softball for children, including Skills Assessment Day sessions for certain baseball divisions. The program includes activities such as Skills Assessment Day sessions that are used to review players’ baseball abilities for team placement.

• Ages: 4–14 years old
• Price: Tickets are $26 Main Level and $18 View Level, with $8 from each ticket going back to SCLL

All baseball and softball players ages 4–14 are welcome, and no experience is required. The program offers baseball for boys and girls ages 4–14 and softball for girls ages 6–14. All baseball players registered for the AAA/Minors and Majors divisions are required to attend a Skills Assessment Day session, and these sessions are described as an opportunity to assess each player’s skills in order to support competitive balance among the teams. A player may attend more than one Skills Assessment Day session but is required to attend only one, and these sessions are held at the end of February with dates typically announced in January. Little Leagues are geographically based, and every player must live or go to school in the league’s boundary area, which for Seattle Central Little League is described as roughly from the Ship Canal to I-90 north–south, and from Lake Washington to Lake Union and then Elliott Bay east–west.

Seattle Central Little League states that its policy is that every child should have an opportunity to play baseball or softball regardless of their financial situation. The league announces the 2nd Annual SCLL Diamond Champions Community Day on Saturday June 7th as a community event. As part of its annual fundraiser, the league promotes an off-field team bonding opportunity that includes attending the Garfield High School Varsity Baseball vs Newport High School game on Friday May 2nd at 7:30pm at T-Mobile Park, where participants will walk the track before the game and kids can run the bases after the game.
