About
Seattle Young Engineers offers after-school classes, summer camps, birthday parties, and the Lego Challenge program. The program uses LEGO building blocks to introduce children to both the theoretical and practical foundations of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). All activities follow hands-on curricula that use a unique “edutainment” method and two teaching techniques: Spiral Learning and Problem Based Learning, Product Based Learning, and Project Based Learning.
Seattle Young Engineers is led by Ruchita Tulsyan, the proud owner of Seattle Young Engineers. The program is fully trained in the licensed e² Young Engineers curriculum and meets all Seattle Public Schools background check requirements. Its kits are made solely for Young Engineers and allow exclusive models, and the team produces unique programs to ensure lessons are interactive and fun. The stated mission is to inspire children to explore, build, and discover through play, giving them the confidence and creativity to understand the world around them. Seattle Young Engineers is proud to bring the innovative e² Young Engineers programs to the community and is described as the “#1 STEM learning program in Seattle!!!”
Parent feedback includes comments such as a child who “LOVED” the Lego Challenge and felt more confident about a dream of becoming an engineer, and another parent who said this is “by far the best yet” compared with other activities like ice skating, basketball, and chess. Other parents report that their children “loved the class,” “absolutely loves this class,” “loves it and would continue with it when offered,” and are “looking forward to the next one.”
