About
Summer Fun! is a performing and visual arts camp that offers daily classes in Drama, Music, Art, and Dance. Campers take part in activities such as theater, tap, ballet, jazz, tumbling, character, scenic design, drawing, and painting. During the session, they also work on engineering, constructing, and painting a putt-putt golf course, and the daily classes culminate in an original musical performance.
• Ages: 7–13 years old
• Schedule: Three-week session from July 13th – July 31st, 2026
Summer Fun! was founded by Kelly Foster-Griffin and Tom Freeman in 1993 and has been running in Seattle for over 30 years. The program started as part of a children’s music demonstration group for teachers working toward their Kodaly Music certification and then expanded to include dance, theater, and art. All instructors are certified teaching artists, and Summer Fun! is a non-profit educational organization. The leadership team includes Founder Kelly Foster-Griffin, Founder and Writer/Composer Tom Freeman, Artistic Director (Music) Lucinda Dalrymple, Administrative Director Ann Selznick, Drama Instructor Marina Clever, Art Instructors Nina Crampton and Jan Harvey, Dance Instructor Jenny Modica, Accompanist Casie Dietrich, Choreographer Pam Gaines, Arranger Dan Coughlan, and Advisory Art and Music Instructors Robyn Jordan and Kyra Rengstorf.
Summer Fun!’s mission is to provide a magical camp experience that enriches the lives of children through the visual and performing arts, using carefully selected, skill-building activities and focusing on the arts as a process as well as a product. S*FAB (Summer Fun Alumni Bunch) is a group of former campers who help ensure the camp runs smoothly. Parent testimonials describe children coming home tired, happy, and full of song, enjoying the classes and counselors, and looking forward to the concluding performance that includes humor, dance, puppets, costumes, and music.
