AAUW Seattle STEM Programs (Tech Trek & STEM Mentor Program) include a STEM Mentor Program session, a UW-AAUW STEM Research Grant Recipient Report, and a Holiday Program and Tech Trek Celebration. The STEM Mentor Program meets on Saturday, January 17, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The UW-AAUW STEM Research Grant Recipient Report takes place on Saturday, February 21, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, and the Holiday Program and Tech Trek Celebration is held on Sunday, December 14, at 2:00 pm.
• Schedule: Program dates include Saturday, January 17, 10:00 am–12:00 pm; Saturday, February 21, 10:00 am–11:30 am; and Sunday, December 14, 2:00 pm.
• Price: To send a girl to camp costs about $1000. Donations of any amount are tax deductible, and all campers are sponsored so that there are no financial barriers to attendance.
The mission of AAUW Seattle STEM Programs is “Advancing Equity for Woman and Girls Through Advocacy, Education, and Research.” The leadership team includes Judy Waring, Member at Large, and Cathy Anderson, Member at Large. AAUW Seattle encourages donations to Tech Trek Washington State and AAUW National’s Greatest Needs Fund, which supports public policies and urgent advocacy funding needs, immediate media coverage, and highly respected research reports. Donations to Tech Trek Washington State are tax deductible. One member states, “Since 2013, I’ve been a member of the AAUW Legacy Circle—the community of individuals who’ve affirmed their commitment to gender equity by designating AAUW to receive a planned gift after they’re gone,” and another member states, “I feel good that I’ve validated that AAUW will remain as one of the charitable organizations to which I’ll leave a legacy gift after I’m gone.”
