West Seattle Soccer Club was founded in 1968. It is a recreational soccer club for youth who reside in the southwest neighborhoods of Seattle. The club states that its recreational soccer clubs focus on making soccer as enjoyable as possible for most players so they can improve their skills and develop a life-long love of the sport.
All youth ages 5-18 are eligible to play and experience is not required. Tryouts and skill grouping are not permitted at the recreational level of play. Players are assigned to teams with their friends, neighbors, and classmates based on their expressed preferences and past team assignments. All players in good standing receive a minimum of 50% playing time in games. Teams are led by volunteer coaches with varying levels of experience and training.
