About
Kids and Youth Programs at Museum of Glass take place within a contemporary art museum dedicated to glass and glassmaking, where children can watch live glassmaking in the Hot Shop and see glass art from emerging artists as well as masters. The programs include activities connected to Kids Design Glass, Science of Art, and Junior Curator Academy. Participants also have the chance to observe Visiting Artist Residencies and see work that comes directly from the museum’s glass studio.

Since opening in 2002, the Museum of Glass has focused on glass and glassmaking and has engaged over 250,000 students through its educational programs, including Kids Design Glass, Science of Art, and Junior Curator Academy. The museum hosts dozens of Visiting Artist Residencies annually, including students from the Hilltop Artists program. The mission of Museum of Glass is to ignite creativity, fuel discovery, and enrich lives through glass and glassmaking. The institution’s leadership includes Executive Director Deborah Lenk, Hot Shop Director Benjamin Cobb, Collections and Exhibitions Director Rebecca Engelhardt, Finance Director Jeff Ganung, Development Director Melinda Longabaugh, and Marketing and Communications Director Tim Butler. Museum of Glass was named a Top 10 tourist destination in Washington State by USA Today in 2017.
