About

Summer @ Annie Wright offers weeklong Arts & Athletics camps for students from any school who will be entering Grades 1–6 in the fall. For each Monday–Friday session, students can attend a morning session from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, an afternoon session from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, or both for a full day from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Full-day participants have lunch supervision and bring a home-packed lunch, as there is no on-campus food service during the summer months.

• Ages: 6–11 years old
• Schedule: Weeklong Monday–Friday sessions from June 22–August 7, 2026, with half-day or full-day options
• Price: Payment plans are available to families who register before May 1.

The foundation of Summer @ Annie Wright is respect for learning, for others, and for the place in which one learns. The average counselor-to-camper ratio is 10:1, and rules and regulations are kept to a minimum so that actions come from general principles of positive behavior. Campers are asked to wear comfortable active clothing and closed-toe, closed-heel athletic shoes, and to avoid items such as pajamas, strapless tops, clothing with holes, or apparel with references to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, political messaging, inappropriate language, or suggestive behavior. Families are asked to send labeled sunscreen, an extra set of clothes, athletic shoes, snacks (without nuts preferred), a swimsuit and towel for swim camp, and lunch for full-day campers, and to keep personal toys, games, weapons or replicas, and most technology at home; if a cell phone or device is brought, it must stay in the backpack and only be used with adult permission.

Annie Wright Schools were established in 1884, and the current building has been on Tacoma Avenue for 100 years. Annie Wright is an International Baccalaureate World School delivering IB programs in every division and is described as the #1 Private K–12 School in Washington State. The schools serve students from age three through Grade 12, with co-ed Lower and Middle Schools in Preschool through Grade 8 and separate Upper Schools for boys and girls offering day and boarding options in Grades 9–12. Summer @ Annie Wright is part of the Arts & Athletics program, and leadership for this area includes an Arts & Athletics Assistant, Ruby Higginson.

Annie Wright Schools partner with Tacoma Public Schools through Realize Tacoma to build a stronger Tacoma. Parent and alumni testimonials describe experiences that include swim lessons, after-school sports and arts, a range of arts offerings such as music production, theatre tech, improv comedy, textiles, and mainstage theatre, as well as academic programs that families describe as rigorous and supportive across Lower, Middle, and Upper School years.
