Tacoma Little Theatre Education Programs states a mission of providing live theatre and education programs that inspire through stories reflecting the vibrancy of a diverse community. Instructors are trained theatre artists who bring a variety of experiences within the theatre industry, provide thorough curriculums, and must pass an extensive background check required by Tacoma Little Theatre. Tacoma Little Theatre is a certified Community Based Instructor, and its education program includes adult actors. Club TLT is a year-round education club dedicated to middle and high school students ages 13–19, with options to focus on audition skills, writing and directing a first play, and working on improv skills.

After-School @ TLT runs in six-week sessions held twice weekly on either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm–6:00pm and culminates in a fully staged play or musical production for friends and family. Homeschool @ TLT is modeled on the after-school program over a six-week period and also culminates in a fully staged production. Dance classes run for six weeks with students focused on a specific style or skill set. Improv classes are available for ages 12–18 and for adults, and Adult Classes @ TLT for students 18 and up include intro to acting, advanced acting, improv, and dance classes.

Winter Break Camp runs during winter break (with dates changing year to year), meets most Mondays–Thursdays from 9:00am–4:00pm, prepares a musical before the school year resumes, and includes one to two performances the last weekend of camp. Spring Break Camp runs Monday–Friday 9:00am–4:00pm for one week, performs on the weekend, and in 2023 includes a skills break camp featuring theater workshop skill building without the pressure of putting on a play. Summer Break Camps meet for four weeks, Monday–Friday 9:00am–4:00pm, and provide an in-depth experience of putting a fully staged musical together and learning technical aspects of a production. The Students On Stage outreach program brings the educational experience to schools with musical and non-musical options.

Tacoma Little Theatre’s vision is to bring together students in the community to learn about and practice the skills and techniques of performance art while building life skills in the process. Tacoma Little Theatre recognizes that it teaches and performs on the traditional homelands of the Puyallup people. Special events and activities give students chances to attend performances and volunteer at Tacoma Little Theatre. Some scholarship funding is available through an online scholarship application, and Tacoma Little Theatre states that it enriches lives by providing opportunities for equitable inclusion and representation, with a goal that everyone, regardless of identity, background, or personal experience, belongs at Tacoma Little Theatre.
