About

Mt. Adams Institute Summer Camp focuses on place-based outdoor science education. The program offers activities that explore and help participants understand the natural world through this outdoor science focus.

• Ages: 6–17 years old

Mt. Adams Institute was founded in 2011 by first Executive Director Brendan Norman and Board Members Jeanne Bennett, Heather Weisfield, Mike Gundlach and Amanda Lawrence. Its mission is to strengthen the connection between people and the natural world through education, service, career development and research. Mt. Adams Institute offers programs that connect people of all ages to the natural world, including kids learning about the ecology of the forests and mountains of Mt. Adams alongside scientists, young adults and military veterans building skills that lead to jobs in the public lands and natural resources sector, and volunteers of all ages supporting the management of public lands. Mt. Adams Institute is an equal-opportunity employer and will cease operations as of December 31, 2026.
