• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
SHAPE NW Camps was founded in 2009, and in 2017 it launched an ADVENTURE camp for older kids. The program’s motto is “Shaping Kids Inside & Out,” which means it focuses on both physical health and character development. SHAPE NW Camps states that every kid is active, every kid participates, and every kid succeeds, and it has created an environment where kids can be successful playing sports and being active regardless of their athleticism. The program introduces a variety of life sports at an early age and includes weekly enrichment such as Lego challenges, fun with food projects, art, science experiments, and other activities taught through fun themes.
The outdoor and wilderness curriculum includes everyday exploration of natural environments around Vancouver, Ridgefield, and Portland. Campers take on challenging hikes through the gorge, visit waterfalls, go on easy hikes, and join kayaking trips that include learning water safety and playing water games, with a focus on building genuine knowledge, love, and respect for the outdoors and practical skills for exploring the outside world.
SHAPE NW Camps states that it exists to empower youth to actively explore the world around them while instilling confidence and character in a safe and fun environment. The program hires staff who are qualified and have passed full background checks. Gigi Thibodeaux is the contact for all summer camp questions, and Paulina Thibodeaux is the contact for all Africa Trip questions.
