HotShots Youth Sports is part of the Educational Opportunites for Children and Families (EOCF) program in Vancouver, Washington. HotShots caters to boys and girls in grades 1–6 who are interested in playing basketball on a recreational level. Teams are formed based on gender, with separate teams for boys and girls, and are split up by grade level. Players can register individually or as a team of 10. Teams from outside the Vancouver and Evergreen school districts are welcome in the program but must obtain and pay for their own practice gym, and individual players from other districts are placed on a Vancouver or Evergreen team. Fall 2026 registration opens in August.
HotShots states that the primary reason a child plays youth sports is to have fun, and its stated goal is for every player to grow in the love of basketball, improve skills, practice good sportsmanship, build friendships, learn teamwork, and have fun in a safe and positive atmosphere. Families are asked to follow specific gym rules, including entering only at the contracted practice time, exiting exactly one hour later, keeping food and drinks other than water out of the gym, supervising siblings, staying only in the gym and restrooms, not propping exterior doors open, helping keep the gym clean, and not smoking anywhere on school property.
