About

HotShots Youth Sports offers recreational basketball for boys and girls who want to play in an organized team setting. The program forms separate basketball teams for boys and girls, and teams are split up by grade level from 1st through 6th grade. Players can take part as individual registrants or as part of a pre-formed team of 10 players.

• Ages: 6–12 years old
• Schedule: Practices are held once a week for one hour, with typical start times of 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 6:15pm, 7:00pm, or 7:15pm

Earlier practice times are typically assigned to grades 1–3, and later practice times are typically assigned to grades 4–6. Teams from other school districts are welcome in HotShots Youth Sports but must provide their own practice gym, while teams within the Vancouver and Evergreen school districts can be provided a practice gym. Individual players from other districts are placed on a Vancouver or Evergreen team. Players are not allowed to enter the gym before their contracted practice time and must leave exactly one hour later, and only water is allowed in the gym, with no other food or drinks. Participants are expected to help keep the gym clean by taking all water bottles, jackets, and other personal items with them after each practice.

HotShots Youth Sports states that its goal is for every player to grow in the love of basketball, improve skills, practice good sportsmanship, build friendships, learn teamwork, and have fun in a safe and positive atmosphere. HotShots Youth Sports is part of the Educational Opportunities for Children and Families (EOCF) program in Vancouver, Washington.
