The organization’s mission is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley serve youth and teens from 2nd grade to age 18 and offer outcome-driven programs focused on Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. They work with parents and families, local clubs, volunteers, donors, corporate partners, schools, and non-profit organizations.
The leadership team includes Travis Ida, Chief Executive Officer; Tasha Weiss, Chief Operating Officer; Angela Payne, Director of Resource Development; Dawn Bennett, Administrative Operations Manager; Paige Stuckey, Club Operations Director; Collin Abel, Administrative & Development Coordinator; Jess Weiss, Center Director Eau Claire Center; Rebekah Kundert, Center Director Black River Falls Center; Jamie Hrastich, Center Director Chippewa Falls Center; and Anne Brooks, Center Director Altoona Center. The Board of Directors Executive Committee is led by President Marcela Tapia, Vice President Seth Sundeen, Past President Lauren Evans, Treasurer Ryan Balts, Secretary Shelly Pryse, and Member at Large Mark Oldenberg, along with board members Beth Hein, Carl Holmquist, Kurt Kern, John Lahti, Tracy Madvig, Sarah North, Jan Porath, Michael Siakpere, Tyler Sperry, Bryan Tilman, Brady Webb, and Zach Zenner.
The program includes academic reinforcement programming to curb learning loss. It uses a relationship-based approach with trained staff and purposeful interactions with members. The organization states that it provides a safe, inclusive place with caring mentors, innovative programs, and opportunities, and that it ensures positive, supportive, inclusive environments that are trauma-informed. Programs are focused on Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
