The WisconSibs Program is part of SOAR Fox Cities and is a registered Sibshop provider. The WisconSibs Program fosters a community of support and understanding for siblings of people with disabilities by providing education, programs, and advocacy that enhance their lives. Sibshops are guided by trained facilitators such as school psychologists, teachers, counselors, or adult siblings in small, age-appropriate groups, and all are trained in sibling issues. Tessa Lewis, the WisconSibs Program Manager, brings nearly 20 years of experience as a trained Sibshop facilitator, and Chloe DeValk serves as the temporary WisconSibs Program Lead. WisconSibs has been a registered Sibshop provider for over 25 years. WisconSibs summer programs include SibDays, Sib Discovery Retreat (formerly SibCamp), and Teen Sib Leadership Retreat, and these summer programs blend high-energy activities with meaningful learning about disability, communication, and the unique role siblings play in their families. Sibshops are lively, play-based workshops for kids ages 6–12 who have siblings with disabilities, SibDays is a weeklong day camp for siblings ages 6–12, Sib Discovery Retreat is a five-day overnight retreat for siblings ages 9–14, and Teen Sib Leadership Retreat is a three-day overnight retreat for siblings ages 13–17 that focuses on identity, advocacy, and the unique role siblings play in their families. A Junior Camp Counselor position is available for ages 15–17, and a Camp Counselor position is available for ages 18 and older. Programs are also connected to DSAW South Central Wisconsin through their former Madison coordinator, who continues to host Sibshops and other sibling programs there. There is a packing list for Sib Discovery Retreat, and Health and Liability Forms are used for Sibshops and Sib Discovery Retreat.
