About

Arts Camp includes daily 45-minute age-appropriate sessions that may feature nature walks around the park, fun activities, and games. Depending on the week, campers attend Nature sessions, Theater sessions, Dance sessions, Vocal Music sessions, Visual Art sessions, Science/Engineering sessions, and Instrumental Music sessions. Each camp week ends with a presentation on Friday, followed by an ice cream party that offers non dairy and vegan options.

• Ages: 6–11 years old
• Schedule: Five-day camp with 45-minute age-appropriate sessions; general camp day includes morning drop-off, midday lunch, and afternoon pick-up, with optional after camp care available
• Price: A full refund is issued if notified in advance of 8 weeks before camp, minus a $25.00 administrative fee.

Campers are divided into four groups and attend age-appropriate sessions with peers of a similar age, with sessions varying by week between June and July. Camp fees include all activities, workshops, art supplies, materials, daily snacks, and a camp t-shirt, and the camp is nut free. Friday includes a presentation that may include an open house segment or meet the needs of the theme, along with an ice cream party that provides non dairy and vegan options. Extended after camp care is available for an additional fee until 4:30pm.

Parents must submit one form per child, and friends or siblings who wish to be in the same group must be in a similar age range and should request this when registering. All lunches must be brought from home for all five days, must be nut free, and staff are unable to heat up meals; for children with severe food allergies, it is highly recommended they bring their own bag lunch and snacks. Campers should bring a full water bottle each morning, wear comfortable clothing for hiking, use sun and bug bite protection, and wear closed toed shoes such as those that are not flip flops or crocs.

Daily camp instructors include teaching professionals from the Wehr Nature Center, First Stage, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, and long-time Arts Camp instructors Tiffany Knopow and Cindy Sinotte, as well as instructor Kris Lombardi. Since opening in 2002, the Wilson Center has grown to annually welcome more than 55,000 people, including more than 10,000 students. The Wilson Center is supported in part by the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Arts Midwest, and is a United Performing Arts Fund Affiliate. The Wilson Center provides volunteer opportunities for high school and college students during the summer as “Green Shirts.” The mission of the Wilson Center is to be the catalyst for lifelong discovery and exploration of the arts and to be a vibrant destination expanding, inspiring, and delivering a lifetime of arts education and experiences.
