About

Compete Basketball offers basketball lessons, basketball camps, and an AAU basketball program that includes Compete Camp, one-on-one lessons, pair lessons, and small group lessons. Training uses purpose-driven training sessions with game-like drills, live defensive reads, competitive scenarios, and live, competitive drills. The program emphasizes live, game-like training instead of cone and chair work, with player development as the core focus.

• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: From September through March, athletes train weekly, and the AAU season runs from April through July.

Compete Basketball is led by Brady Olson, who is described as a highly respected, knowledgeable, and talented basketball coach and instructor. The program is a comprehensive training program offering lessons, camps, and an AAU program that spans grade school, middle school, and high school athletes, with Team Compete comprised of 13 teams and over 130 athletes. Team Compete represents 22 school districts across 3 states, and Compete Basketball travels to provide training at the participant's location.

The program’s motto, “Only One Stat Matters,” states that players play for each other and play to win together, with an emphasis that team success comes before individual stats or accolades. The culture is described as being built on teamwork, accountability, and a family-like environment, with a focus on helping athletes grow both on and off the court and a commitment to developing the whole athlete, including character and long-term growth. Coaches bring a competitive mindset in a high-energy, positive, and competitive environment, and the program teaches life skills like focus, leadership, resilience, and accountability through basketball.

In the last two years, Compete Basketball Camp has hosted camps at over 20 schools and welcomed more than 1,000 campers. Testimonials from parents and coaches describe Brady and Compete Camp as making hard work and learning fun and competitive, providing drills that are “spot on” and taught well, and running camps where time is used efficiently and campers work hard. Feedback from campers, as reported in testimonials, includes that they enjoyed the camp, felt they had to work hard, and felt the camp helped them improve as basketball players.
