Compete Basketball offers basketball lessons, basketball camps, and an AAU basketball program. Athletes can take part in Compete Camp, Team Compete (AAU), one-on-one lessons, pair lessons, and small group lessons. The program emphasizes live, game-like training and competitive scenarios, and Compete Basketball brings the training to the client with a “We Travel to You” model.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: From September through March, athletes train weekly, and the AAU season runs from April through July.
Compete Basketball includes training for grade school, middle school, and high school athletes and focuses on helping athletes grow both on and off the court, with an emphasis on life skills such as focus, leadership, resilience, and accountability. Team Compete is comprised of 13 teams with over 130 athletes and represents 22 school districts across 3 states. Compete Basketball’s motto, “Only One Stat Matters,” states that players play for each other and play to win together, with a focus on making winning plays such as hustling on defense, making the extra pass, or setting up a teammate for a better shot.
Compete Basketball is led by Brady Olson, a basketball coach and instructor associated with Compete Camp and Compete Basketball. In the last two years, Compete Basketball Camp has hosted camps at over 20 schools and welcomed more than 1,000 campers. Testimonials from parents, youth coaches, and high school varsity coaches describe Brady Olson and Compete Camp as knowledgeable, enthusiastic, competitive, and efficient, with drills that are “spot on,” a focus on fundamentals, and camps that athletes enjoy and that challenge them to work hard.
