Summer Camps at Old World Wisconsin include activities that let kids peek into the life of a 19th-century apprentice, visit and explore log cabins, and try their hand at crafts and trades. Campers lace up their boots to see farm animals, help with chores and cooking, collect chicken eggs, knead bread, and look at veggies in the gardens. They can lend a hand in the blacksmith shop, dye and spin wool, tend plants and flowers, ride high-wheel tricycles, try on wooden shoes, play games, and make and take home unique souvenirs, and some experiences include an immersive family tour and sampling beer in the Brewhouse.

Summer Camps at Old World Wisconsin are part of a site that is celebrating 50 years of historic adventures and its 50th anniversary. The venue includes a new Welcome Center that serves as the entry and exit point for all visitors, with an open-air plaza, upgraded restrooms, and a brand-new museum store with more space for new items along with familiar favorites. The program offers 1-day and multi-day long summer day camps for different ages, with experiences themed around 19th-century life and early immigrants in Wisconsin.
Old World Wisconsin has been placed on the Best of the Burbs’ list by Milwaukee Magazine and on the Top 20 Places to Take Kids list by Milwaukee Kids Out and About for the last four years. Wisconsin Historical Society members receive unlimited free admission to 11 historic sites and museums, a complimentary annual subscription to the Wisconsin Magazine of History, merchandise discounts, and discounts at over 1,200 organizations nationwide for members at the Family level and above.
