Theatre for Kids, the children’s programming of the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild, includes activities such as a Musical Theatre Camp and Beetlejuice Jr performances. The program is part of the Theatre Guild’s broader focus on theatre experiences for young participants.

The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild has served the community for 45 years, and its children’s programming is called Theatre for Kids. The Theatre for Kids mission states that it develops, encourages, and promotes quality theatre experiences that delight and challenge participants and audiences, nurtures an appreciation for theatre in children, celebrates theatrical achievements of participants, and provides affordable, accessible, and educational hands-on experiences to youth in all aspects of theatre. The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild’s overall mission is to produce a broad spectrum of high-quality theatrical presentations, provide hands-on learning experiences in all aspects of theatre for children and adults, and nurture and celebrate the achievements of volunteers.

The organization is led by a Board of Directors that includes President Emily Kassera (Teacher – Altoona School District), Vice President Cindy Fahser (Retired Educator), Treasurer Greg Banchy (Attorney, Banchy Law Office), Ron Bower (Freelance Marketing Specialist), Sadie Patko (Customer Service, Xcel Energy), Reid Sollberger (Playwright), and Past President David Hirsch (Physician, Marshfield Clinic). Staff members include Executive Director Ann Sessions, Tech Director Tim Menebroeker, and Volunteer Coordinator Angie Alexander (Volunteer). The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild promotes the expression of ideas, fosters creativity, and embraces all, and offers volunteer opportunities for performers, musicians, directors, costumers, carpenters, painters, designers, lighting techs, sound techs, backstage crews, and more.

Scholarships are available for educational opportunities connected with the Theatre Guild. Carr Groenewold College Scholarships provide $1,200 in scholarship funds divided among one to three students and are awarded annually to a high school senior or seniors pursuing music or theatre in college in the fall and/or a college student or students continuing in music or theatre.
